For the next five years, Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital will enjoy the pleasure of hosting the Italian professor Giulio Marchesini Reggiani. He has particular focus on quality of life, the costs of these diseases, lifestyle and medicine.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, which 25 per cent of the adult population suffer from, is a particular focus point for Giulio Marchesini Reggiani’s research. Among other things, he has helped clarify that the disease is seen as a defective response to insulin in the disease process, and that advice on healthy diet and exercise helps to reduce the consequences of the disease.

Most recently, he successfully helped to test the effect of a web-based initiative in relation to patients changing their lifestyle.
