Department head at Odontology Ellen Lau Frandsen began the ceremony by praising the graduates: "Sixty of you registered for the exam and all sixty passed. You are a good year class and we are very proud of you."

The ceremony was filled with lovely tones and acoustic resonance provided by Sebastian Schlafer, associate professor at Odontology, and Doreen Hoffmann.

An emotional Ellen Lau Frandsen, department head at Odontology, held her final speech for the graduates. She will leave her current position on 31 July and carry on working as an associate professor of microbiology at the department: "This is both a happy and a sad day. We have to say goodbye to a whole year and, at the same time, hello to new dentists. You are the essence of what being at a university is all about. You’re the one’s who make it fun to work here.”

The chairman of the Danish Dental Association Freddie Sloth-Lisbjerg began his celebratory speech with an anecdote about a master and his apprentice. The anecdote pointed out that it is not a question of just rushing through life; it is also a question of keeping an eye on your surroundings and the small disturbances you meet on the way.

Graduate Laura Boe-Hansen had brought her diary along with her and read out small stories about life as an odontology student. The stories led to both laughter and nods of agreement among the other graduates.

Director of Studies Eva Karring presents the diplomas and congratulates the graduates.

The Main Hall was filled with proud people and there were many words of wisdom, including those of the chairman of the Danish Dental Association Freddie Sloth-Lisbjerg, who said: "The person who believes he or she is done with education is more done than educated.” He thus emphasised that you should stay curious and maintain a desire to learn throughout life.
