Sándor Beniczky is a consultant at the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology at Aarhus University Hospital and leads the Epilepsy hospital’s neurophysiological department. He conducts research into clinical neurophysiology with special focus on epilepsy diagnosis. Sándor Beniczky’s research contributes to creating greater knowledge about epileptic brain activity and thus more precise diagnosis and localisation of the epileptic focus. He has also contributed to the development and clinical validation of methods for automatic tracing of epileptic seizures, which can potentially be a useful aid for patients with epilepsy.

Sándor Beniczky’s professorship has been established in a collaboration between Aarhus University Hospital and the specialist epilepsy hospital Filadelfia. Sándor Beniczky took up his professorship at the Department of Clinical Medicine in January of this year. He will give his inaugural lecture on 1 June 2017.
