Every fifth student drops out within their first year. Most enrol in a new degree programme, while others drop out completely. We need a better understanding of why, the contributing factors, and what preventive measures work.
Besides a presentation of the current initiatives, the day’s programme also offers four workshops involving various aspects of retention. The keynote speaker for the day is Professor Vincent Tinto of Syracuse University in the US, a leading researcher in the field of retention and drop-outs at higher education institutions.
The conference is aimed at students, teaching staff, degree programme directors and administrative staff. The conference is free to attend, but you need to register by 22 October on a first come, first served basis.
