Medical Innovation Day 2019: How innovative are you?

Join us when Health brings together students, researchers, foundations and companies for the third time to work on innovative solutions to the biggest health challenges of the future. You still have time to grab a seat for this year’s event on 27 September.

2019.08.19 | Simon Byrial Fischel

Do you have a new idea or an exciting research result, but not the right partners to take things further? Or would you like to take on a case assignment from a company in the healthcare sector? Then join us when the Graduate School at Health invites interested parties to the Medical Innovation Day.

The event is open to all researchers, PhD students and Master’s degree students at AU with an interest in healthcare innovation – and participants can choose one of the two tracks: Challenge Track and Innovative Ideas Track.

On the Innovative Ideas Track, researchers and PhD students have the opportunity to present their ideas to a panel of highly qualified representatives from companies and foundations, as well as experienced health science researchers. The panel offers sparring about the ideas and the opportunity to find collaborative partners or investors who can help to realise them.

The Challenge Track is intended for innovative PhD and Master's degree students who will work in groups to find a solution to one of five challenging cases. This year’s cases come from:

  • Zealand Pharma
  • Roche
  • BalancAir
  • Arla
  • New Nordic Engineering

The Challenge Track spans two days with a pre-event on Thursday 26/9 and the main event on Friday 27/9.

This year, you can also look forward to a keynote speech by Mikael Ørum, founder of Ventac Partners, who has more than 25 years of experience with entrepreneurship in the biotech industry, as well as a presentation by Tore Duvold, the Vice President of Innovation Fund Denmark.

Participation is free of charge, and food and refreshments will be provided throughout the day, while PhD students can even get ECTS credits for participation.
