Danish girls who are referred to a HPV center due to suspected adverse effects following HPV vaccination more often had a diagnosis of, e.g., infectious disease, psychiatric diseases or diseases of the digestive and musculoskeletal system prior to vaccination compared with vaccinated girls without suspected adverse effects. That is the results of a register-based study conducted by researchers from Aarhus University.

Consultant Reimar Thomsen, PhD, from DCE is co-author on the paper” Hospital contacts and diagnoses five years prior to HPV vaccination among females referred for suspected adverse vaccine effects: A Danish nationwide case-control study”, which has just been published in Vaccine.

The results have been widely reported in the Danish media. Read more about the study results.
