New Doctor of Medical Science in diseases of the dental pulp and their treatment

Aarhus University has a new Doctor of Medical Science in endodontics – the study of dental pulp. Her name is Lise-Lotte Kirkevang and she comes from the Department of Dentistry and Oral health.

Dentist, Associate Professor and PhD Lise-Lotte Kirkevang is Aarhus University’s new Doctor of Medical Science (DrMedSc) in endodontics at the Department of Dentistry and Oral Health. Endodontics is the study of the inner part of a tooth – known as the dental pulp – and of inflammation of the dental pulp, inflammation of the root apex and root canal treatment. The new Doctor of Medical Science’s research describes the endodontic status of the adult Danish population over a ten-year period.

According to Lise-Lotte Kirkevang, research points to the need for both specialists and resources in the area.
