The Museum of Ancient Art is hosting an international conference on the use and relevance of classical archaeological university collections, financed by the Carlsberg Foundation and the Research Programme The Ancient World at Aarhus University.
The aim of the conference is to provide a forum for researchers and curators of classical archaeological university collections for the exchange of knowledge, experience and visions for these collections. The conference provides a platform for a joint analysis of the role and effect of study collections in research and teaching in university departments. Thus the goal is to facilitate a dialogue on and re-negotiation of the concept and use of study collections of Classical Archaeology for 21st century university goals.
