Postdoc Eugenio Gutierrez has received 198.757 DKK from Civilingeniør Frode V Nyegaard og Hustrus Fond for the project: “Characterizing the vascular effect of a potential treatment for Alzheimer’s disease”

This project aims to evaluate a potential treatment to improve the oxygen delivery to the brain, by reducing the capillary dysfunction that is present in Alzheimer’s disease. For this purpose, the project will combine optical imaging techniques, such as two-photon microscopy, laser Doppler flowmetry and optical coherence tomography to analyse the cortical hemodynamics of a transgenic animal model of Alzheimer’s disease.
The fund will be used to acquire medical equipment for the project.
