What are efficient ways of improving mental health? Do we need to change our mindset on how we think about mental health? Is mental health, like physical health, calling for enhanced common responsibility and a societal investment? Could we implement evidence-based programs for better mental health, alongside programs for physical health, much earlier in life? Should we present these programs more broadly – in schools, work places, prisons and hospitals? Would this type of development, with an emphasis on prevention of poor mental health, save our society from significant economic expenses? Would it make us happier? What is the evidence and what do other countries do? What type of already-existing knowledge can we lean on and learn from?

This conference is designed to bring together people who have a desire to rethink the choices we are currently making as a society to create “the good life”. We invite politicians, scientists, business leaders, educators and artists to participate in the discussion on the growing challenges of poor mental health, hindering individual and societal growth and well-being. Training in mindfulness and compassion offers new directions in education, business and health.
