Victor Pando is a medical doctor from Mexico, recently awarded a Master´s Degree in Neurobiology, studying the effect of music in the management of chronic pain.

Victor´s recent studies include a systematic review and meta-analysis of music-induced analgesia in chronic pain conditions and the neural correlates of music-induced analgesia in fibromyalgia patients using behavioral measures and resting-state functional MRI.

Victor has now started at a PhD Fellow at MIB under the supervision of professor Peter Vuust and Senior Visiting Researchers Maria Witek and Eduardo Garza. The project will focus on the neural correlates of experienced musical pleasure during rhythmic musical stimulation in Parkinson’s disease (PD) patients.

In parallel with his post-graduate studies, Victor is a trained pianist from the Music Academy of Puebla, Mexico.
