On Wednesday, October 9th Søren Degn will host a seminar given by Michael Reth, Professor of Molecular Immunology and director of the Centre for Biological Signaling Studies (BIOSS), a cluster of excellence at the University of Freiburg, Germany.

The title of this I&I International Seminar is: “Nanoscale receptor studies on B lymphocytes

Michael Reth is a member of the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO), the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, and since 2018 the National Academy of Sciences. He has received numerous awards for his outstanding research on the immune system, e.g. the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize of the German Research Foundation (DFG) in 1995 and the Paul Ehrlich und Ludwig Darmstaedter Prize in 2014.

Michael has profound insight, not only in lymphocyte biology, but also broadly in immunity and cell signaling. He is an advisory board member for the Program in Cellular and Molecular Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital. Hence, his visit is an exquisite opportunity to discuss ongoing projects and get some qualified feedback. Søren has already spoken to several of you about a meeting with Michael during the day. For those of you not reached yet, we still have one open time slot for a meeting in the afternoon. Please let me know if one of you is interested.
