Infections in children tied to subsequent mental illness risk in new study

A new study from iPSYCH shows that infections in children is tied to subsequent mental illness during childhood and adolescence. This knowledge expands our understanding of the role of the immune system in the development of mental disorders.

Seven extraordinary AU researchers receive Sapere Aude research leader grants

The Independent Research Fund Denmark (DFF) has granted a total of DKK 192 million to the Sapere Aude research leader programme. Seven out of a total of 34 prestigious grants have been awarded to researchers from Aarhus University. Grants have gone to researchers from all four AU faculties.

Rehabilitation with a physiotherapist after hip and knee replacement does not work as intended

There is no benefit from sending patients with hip and knee replacement to rehabilitation with a physiotherapist – as is normal practice due to a long-standing Danish tradition. Researchers from Aarhus University show that patients do just as well with home-based exercises and point out that the money should be used better.
