New face at MIB: Rasmine Mogensen

New PhD fellow at MIB is going to investigate the neural dynamics of sensorimotor integration in children with ASD.

Rasmine recently attained a master’s degree in psychology at Aarhus University, and she will now be working as a PhD student at MIB after having received a fully financed fellowship from the Graduate School of Health.

Last fall she did a research internship at MIB under the supervision of Associate Professor Line Gebauer, which was very educational and inspired her to continue doing research after her master’s. As a part of her internship she conducted a research project, which examined children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and their ability to store and integrate different kinds of sensory and contextual information in memory. She received funding for this project from the seed funding kindly granted by Interacting Minds Centre, Aarhus University.

During her time as a research intern at MIB, the neural dynamics of sensorimotor integration in children with ASD caught her interest. Therefore, this area of interest will be the focus of her PhD project, which will be supervised by Line and Peter Vuust. In her PhD project she will apply a finger-tapping paradigm in order to examine sensorimotor integration during synchronisation of behaviour in children with ASD, and the project will include both MEG and MRI scans.
