Krogh’s Insights About the Microcirculation - Relevant a Century Later
15.01.2020 |
Dato | tor 27 feb |
Tid | 14:15 — 16:00 |
Sted | AIAS Bygning 1630-1632, 201, Høegh-Guldbergs Gade 6B, 8000 Aarhus C, Danmark |
Featuring Professor Christopher Ellis, University of Western Ontario, Canada.
The talk will emphasize how critical simple diffusion is to our understanding of tissue oxygenation today. Something Krogh made us aware of 100 years ago. This theme will be expanded to consider other simple (or not so simple) physical laws that govern oxygen transport in capillaries and the microvasculature. How this explains observations made since Krogh’s seminal work and what insights we gain that help us understand the regulation of oxygen transport.
The talk will be followed by a reception and participation is free.
