CFIN researcher Mikkel V. Petersen awarded the "Ung Forsker Pris 2017" (Young Researcher 2017)

Mikkel V. Petersen from CFIN received the Young Researcher Award 2017 from the Parkinson Association on Saturday 4 November 2017

Mikkel V. Petersen, MD, PhD

 

Mikkel V. Petersen is educated MD from Aarhus University. He defended his PhD thesis in February 2017 on “Tractography and Neurosurgical Targeting in Deep Brain Stimulation for Parkinson’s Disease”. 

The overarching aim of his research is translating advances within the field of MRI into the clinic, specifically to optimise the treatment of Parkinsons Disease with Deep Brain Stimulation. His current work is focused on automating post-operative electrode localisation combined with tractography-based delineation of white matter pathways critical for treatment outcome.

With the Award comes DKK 25.000.
