PhD student Annette Ingemann and PhD student Anne Nakano from Department of Clinical Epidemiology each received a grant from the Danish Heart Association on February 25. The association handed out DKK 3.9 million in total for research in women’s hearts as part of the campaign “Love the heart”. The grants were presented by HRH Crown Princess Mary, patron of the Danish Heart Association. Annette Ingemann received DKK 240,000 for research in prevention and early treatment of complications associated with apoplexy. She will look at whether the patient’s gender influences the risk of complications. Anne Nakano received DKK 246,000 for a research project looking at whether women with heart failure are diagnosed and treated as well as men with heart failure.
