In connection with Mikkel Petersen's PhD defense there will be a mini-symposium on Diffusion MRI, Tractography and Deep Brain Stimulation with talks by Volker Coenen and J-Donald Tournier.

V. A. Coenen. “Tractography Assisted DBS for Treatment Refractory Depression”


Volker Coenen is Professor and Consultant Neurosurgeon at Department of Neurosurgery, Freiburg University Hospital, Germany. Professor Coenen is an internationally well known neurosurgeon with a large experience with deep brain stimulation in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease, tremor and depression and the use of diffusion tensor imaging fiber tracking in deep brain stimulation surgery.

J-Donald Tournier is Senior Lecturer at Department of Biomedical Engineering, King's College London.

Donald Tournier is one of the world’s leading expert on the development and application of diffusion MRI methods, particularly those that relate to the characterisation of white matter and its connectivity.
