Pedersen, S. F. (ed.) Fortællinger fra Grundforskningens Grænseland – samtaler med 25 nutidige forskere i Danmark, Copenhagen.

With the new publication with stories from the frontiers of basic research. the Danish National Research Foundation and the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters wish to give the reader insights into research processes in Denmark anno 2020 and the people behind these. Furthermore, the publication aims to showcase exactly what inspires people behind ground-breaking research currently being conducted in Denmark.

The book is based on interviews made by Professor Stine Falsig Pedersen (Department of Biology, University of Copenhagen). She has talked to several distinguished researchers – all current or former centre directors. One of them is MIB professor and centre director Peter Vuust who was interviewed about his untraditional way into research and his DNRF centre.

All interviews have resulted in stories that take the reader on a journey into 25 different research areas. With a desire to gain new knowledge and to understand the world that surrounds us, the borders between the known and the unknown is continuously being pushed, established ideas give way for new insights, and life stories intertwine with research areas.
