01.11.2017 | Hella Kastbjerg

Claudia Iorio comes from Naples, Italy and she has been interested in music since childhood. During adolescence, she became interested in psychology and decided to go to university. After her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology: Human research, she continued her studies and in April 2017 she finished her Master’s degree in Psychology: Cognitive Neuroscience. Her master's thesis concerned musical learning in 7-8 year old children. She examined whether a multidisciplinary method to teaching music, called “I Linguaggi musicali”, invented by professor Patrizia Scarano, could simplify the instrumental learning of the violin.

Parallel to her university studies, Claudia attended a viola course at the San Pietro a Majella conservatory of Naples. She finished her courses in September 2017. During the years, she has collaborated with many orchestra, ensembles and quartets. Her experience includes classical music, electroacoustic music and pop music.

Now she has started a 1 year traineeship at MIB under the supervision of professor Elvira Brattico.
