New face at MIB: Giulio Carraturo

Italian master's student is doing a 5 month internship at MIB.

Giulio Carraturo comes from Naples, Italy. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Parma and he is currently enrolled in his last year of a Master’s in Cognitive Psychology at the University of Bologna.

Giulio has started a 5 months internship at MIB in order to complete his Master's thesis exploring the psychological perception and neural correlates of musical mode. He is working on a systematic review that will be complemented by an MEG experimental study focusing on the automatic discrimination of auditory irregularities inserted in a major/minor musical mode context. He also joined the research team for the data collection of the auditory memory experiment carried on by MIB PhD fellow Leonardo Bonetti and supervised by professor Elvira Brattico.

Besides his academic studies, he is a trained pianist from the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory of Naples and performed several concerts in the south of Italy.
