New face at MIB: Marianne Tiihonen

Marianne Tiihonen from the University of Jyväskylä, Finland is here for 3 months to work on a project about affect derived from music and visual art.

Marianne has a master´s degree from the University of Vienna, Austria where she studied musicology as her major and psychology as her minor. Currently Marianne is enrolled in another master´s degree study in Cognitive Sciences with an emphasis on neuroscience, also at the University of Vienna.

As part of her doctoral studies, Marianne received a three-month mobility grant from the science council of the University of Jyväskylä to visit the MiB-centre to work with Professor Elvira Brattico. By conducting MEG and behavioral measurements, together with Dr. Suvi Saarikallio, they are working on the chronometry of affect and pleasure derived from music and visual art.
