Polish PhD student visits MIB as part of an Erasmus internship

Marta Jaśkiewicz is a PhD student at Department of Experimental Psychology (The John Paul II Catholic University in Lublin, supervised by prof. Piotr Francuz) in Poland. Her scientific interests are the perception of music and its modification by the level of expertise in the field of music. She is also interested in using electroencephalography in psychological research, particularly the method of event-related potentials (ERP). Her doctoral thesis focuses on factors influencing the processing of musical syntax, mainly the complexity of stimuli, attention and musical expertise.
Marta visits MIB for three months as a part of Erasmus intership to gain more practical experience in neuroscience of music. She will be assisting researchers in their ongoing projects mainly involving behavioural and fMRI measurments. Marta is supervised by MIB assistant prof. Boris Kleber.
