Massimo Lumaca obtained a Bachelor degree in Biology, followed by a Master degree in Neurobiology, both at La Sapienza - Università di Roma (IT). Later, he obtained a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience at SISSA - International School of Advanced Studies (IT). Concurrently he carried forward musical studies at the conservatory Santa Cecilia and Alfredo Casella.
He is now a postdoctoral researcher at MIB investigating the neural underpinnings of the cultural evolution of music and language.
