Professor, Dr.Med., PhD Sune Nørhøj Jespersen

Sune Nørhøj Jespersen is new Professor at CFIN, Aarhus University. He has a PhD degree in theoretical physics and a doctorate in medicine and will use both scientific backgrounds to develop MRI methods for brain scanning.

With high resolution at the level of single brain cells, MRI microscopy will give more relevant biological information in a safe and non-invasive way. Sune Nørhøj Jespersen's research and development of techniques for MRI microscopy could thereby enable more precise and earlier diagnosis of brain diseases. This can result in better treatment for patients with for instance dementia.

Sune Nørhøj Jespersen will begin as Professor at the Department of Clinical Medicine on 1 July 2017. He will continue to be affiliated to Department of Physics and Astronomy as well.
