Kære alle

Her er seneste nyt fra instituttet, som denne gang primært handler om besparelser, institutstrategi og nogle vigtige administrative oplysninger.

Forhandlinger om besparelser

Som I ved, er forhandlingerne om besparelserne på AUH i fuld gang, og sparekravet på 325 mio. kr. er i mellemtiden blevet spredt ud over fire år. Jeg er dybt bekymret over så massiv en besparelse, som er meningsløs i forhold til at opretholde et højt aktivitetsniveau. Alt er i spil, og det kan potentielt få betydning for vores forskning og uddannelse samt mulighed for at rekruttere. Jeg arbejder selvfølgelig for, at vi bliver påvirket mindst muligt og er i tæt dialog med Hospitalsledelsen.

Instituttets strategi er på trapperne

I januar var alle forskningsledere og instituttets ledelse for første gang samlet for at tale om den kommende retning for instituttet. Der kom mange gode idéer og konstruktive kommentarer. Vi har i ledelsen efterfølgende arbejdet med en strategi- og handleplan, som har været til kommentering hos alle forskningsledere her i foråret. Den 6. juni vedtager vi den endelig strategi- og handleplan på et opfølgningsseminar, hvor alle lærestolsprofessorer, de akademiske koordinatorer og en række center/afdelingsledere er inviterede. Derefter vil I alle høre mere om, hvad vi er blevet enige om, skal være pejlemærkerne for instituttet.

Husk midler fra visse fonde skal søges til instituttet

Jeg vil gerne minde jer om, at bevillinger fra Danmarks Frie Forskningsfond, Grundforskningsfonden, Innovationsfonden og EU giver overhead, som er vigtige tilskud til instituttets drift. Det er derfor vigtigt for vores økonomi, at I søger virkemidler fra disse fonde med udgangspunkt i jeres ansættelse på IKM, hvis I mener, at I har projekter, som er oplagte. Vi hjælper gerne med at afklare dette.

Økonomisk støtte til brug af ’scientific writers’ til hjælp med ansøgninger
Instituttet har en liste over firmaer, som mod betaling hjælper med at kvalificere fondsansøgninger. Det nye tilbud omfatter både sprogligt input og feedback ift. det videnskabelige indhold. Der kan laves aftaler med undertegnede om at gøre brug af tilbuddet, som instituttet dækker, ved tidlig fremsendelse af udkast til ansøgninger. Det skal ses som et supplement til Forskningsstøtteenheden.

Fonde bruger PURE, når de skal finde en forsker

Det er sagt før, men kan ikke understreges nok. En opdateret PURE-profil er vigtig, også i forhold til fonde, som bruger siden til at få et indtryk af jeres forskning. Det viser en intern undersøgelse på Health. Så husk at holde både publikationsliste, CV og kontaktinformationer opdaterede. Læs mere om hvorfor i denne nyhed

Undgå et løntræk – afregn i RejsUd inden for 90 dage
For jer der har et AU-kreditkort: Det er vigtigt, at I afregner for de udgifter, som I betaler med kortet, inden for 90 dage. Når I det ikke, vil systemet fremover automatisk trække jer i løn. Det træder i kraft efter sommerferien. Hvis I har brug for hjælp til RejsUd, kan I finde vejledninger og kontaktoplysninger på økonomimedarbejdere her.

Reminder: Brug AU’s indkøbsaftaler
En stikprøvekontrol viser, at vi på AU i flere tilfælde ikke overholder lovgivningen ift. indkøb af bl.a. forskningsudstyr. Jeg vil derfor bede jer huske, at vi er forpligtede til at benytte os af universitetets indkøbsaftaler – aftaler som ofte også reducerer vores udgifter. I finder indkøbsaftalerne på AU’s medarbejderhjemmeside.

Byggeriet af NIDO er gået i gang
I disse sparetider er der også gode nyheder. Den 14. maj blev der taget første spadestik til det 5000 kvm store byggeri NIDO Danmark, som bliver center for forskning og uddannelse i sundhed i forlængelse af Regionshospitalet Gødstrup. Det styrker IKM’s aktiviteter i den vestlige ende af regionen, hvilket er positivt. Centret står efter planen færdigt i 2020.

Here is the latest news from the department, which this time primarily focuses on cost reductions, departmental strategy and some important administrative information.

Negotiations on cost reductions

As you know, the negotiations on the cost reductions at AUH are in full progress, and the necessary cost reductions of DKK 325 million has been spread out over the next  four years. I am deeply concerned about such a massive cost reduction that is pointless in relation to maintaining a high level of activity. Everything is at play, and it can potentially have an impact on our research and education as well as the opportunity to recruit. Of course, I work to ensure that we are affected as little as possible and I am in close dialogue with the hospital management.

The Department's strategy is in the pipeline

In January, all the research directors and the department management had gathered for the first time to discuss the future direction of the department. There were a lot of good ideas and constructive comments. In the management, we have subsequently been working on a strategy and action plan which has been discussed by all the research directors here in the spring. On June 6, we will adopt the final strategy and action plan for a follow-up seminar in which all clinical professors, the academic coordinators and a number of centre/section managers have been invited. After this seminar, you will all hear more about what will be the new guiding points for the department.

Funds from certain foundations

I would like to remind you that grants from the Independent Research fund Denmark, Grundforskningsfonden, Innovationsfonden and the EU offer overheads, which are important funding for the departments operations. For this reason, It is important for our economy that you apply for funding from these foundations based on your employment at the Department of Clinical Medicine if you believe that you have projects which are obvious. We are happy to help you clarify this.

Financial support for the use of ' scientific writers ' for helping out with applications

The Department has a list of companies which, in return for payment, will help you to qualify your applications. The new offer includes both linguistic input and feedback in relation to the academic content. Agreements may be made with me in order to make use of the offer which the department covers in connection with the early submission of draft applications. This should be seen as a supplement to the Research Support Office.

Foundations use PURE when finding a researcher

We have mentioned it before but it cannot be underlined enough. An updated PURE profile is important, also in relation to foundations. We know that for a fact. Remember to keep the list of publications, CV and contact information up-to-date. Read more about why in this nyhed

Avoid a salary deduction – settle your account in RejsUd within 90 days

For those of you who have an AU credit card: It is important that you settle your account within 90 days. If you fail to do so, the system will automatically draw your salary. This will be executed after the summer holidays. If you need help with RejsUd, you can find guidelines and contact information for finance employees her.

Reminder: Please make use of AU’s purchasing agreements

A random check shows that, in many cases, at AU, we do not comply with the legislation in relation to procurement of, for example, research equipment. For this reason, I would like to ask you to remember that we are obliged to use the university's purchasing agreements – agreements which often also reduce our costs. You will find the purchasing contracts on AU’s medarbejderhjemmeside.

The construction of NIDO has started

In these cost-cutting periods, there is also good news. On May 14, the first sod was cut for the 5000 m2 building NIDO Danmark, which will be the Centre for Research and Education in health in continuation of the Regional hospital Gødstrup. This will strengthen IKM's activities at the western end of the region, which is positive. The Centre is scheduled to be completed in 2020.
