Familiar face to become visiting professor at Aarhus University

Jo (Jozef Gabriel R.) De Mey will be affiliated with Aarhus University as visiting professor at the Department of Biomedicine. Though it will be far from the first visit to Aarhus for the researcher specialising in cardiovascular diseases.

Jo De Mey carries out research into areas including high blood pressure, diabetes and heart failure and the consequences of these diseases.

Jo De Mey and Aarhus University first crossed paths back in 1983 and since then he has visited Aarhus many times. 

Jo De Mey carries out research into areas including high blood pressure, diabetes and heart failure and the consequences of these diseases. He initially carries out his research on laboratory animals which are then later replaced by tissue from patients.

The goal of Jo de Mey’s research is to examine the characteristics associated with residual cardiovascular diseases in order to find new goals for better prevention and treatment.
