Dear staff and students

The reports produced by the internal expert committee have now been published on our homepage. This is a very important milestone in the work we started in 2013 aimed at identifying the problems we currently face in our organisation. I’d like to thank the expert group for their efforts. They have produced a meticulous and comprehensive body of material which we must handle with respect and all due care. The hard work done by the expert group deserves full recognition from the entire university. And I’d also like to thank everyone who has contributed to the survey and reports in various ways.

We now have a valuable tool for use in the process that lies ahead, and we look forward to hearing the comments of the analysis panel in a fortnight’s time.

The senior management team will consider the reports produced by the expert group and the comments of the analysis panel very carefully before announcing our proposals for solutions after the summer holiday. Until 1 July everyone is welcome to comment on the reports and their results at au.dk/problemanalysen. The senior management team will include all this input in the work it does between now and mid-August, when a process of consultation regarding our proposals will start among staff and students.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to encourage all interested parties to watch the streamed meeting for staff and students on 18 June at 10-12 in Stakladen. The chair of the expert group (Torben M. Andersen) will be presenting the expert group’s reports; and the chair of the analysis panel (Jørn Flohr Nielsen) will be presenting the analysis panel’s recommendations. Staff and students will also get the chance to ask the expert committee and analysis panel some questions.

Let me just finish by reminding everyone that the reason why we launched this internal problem analysis was to gain a solid foundation for making the necessary changes in our organisation. We have now been presented with the foundation we need, and the entire senior management team look forward to the next stage of the process – and to presenting our proposals in August.

Sincerely

Brian Bech Nielsen
