Pain in the jaw is one of the most common types of pain in the mouth and face. Nevertheless, the physiological changes and the underlying mechanisms behind facial pain conditions have not been fully described. This is the focal point of Simple Kothari’s research, and she is now being honoured for research into facial pain, which is a step on the road to improved diagnostics and treatment of pain afflicted patients.

The Harold Wolff-John Graham Award is presented by the American Academy of Neurology, and includes a USD 1,000 cash prize.
