Together with three fellow applicants, Clinical Professor Henrik Toft Sørensen and his research group will receive a total of DKK 9.4 million for the project "Risk Profiles for Suicidal Behavior in the General Population”. The project focuses on the best way to detect and/or predict the risk of suicide, among other things in patients with chronic diseases, and the researchers behind the project work with 'machine learning methods' within the psychiatric field, among other methods.

Henrik Toft Sørensen's research group receives almost four of the DKK 9.4 million for their part of the project, which primarily focuses on data collection and statistics.

The grant stems from the American National Institutes of Health (NIH). The project is headed by Jaimie Gradus in collaboration with Henrik Toft Sørensen. Jaimie Gradus is employed at Boston University Medical Campus and is a visiting associate professor at Aarhus University.
