Job at AU
Aarhus University has succeeded in shanghaiing associate professor in translational neuropsychiatry Andrew Harkin and has made him its new honorary professor. He will be affiliated with the Department of Clinical Medicine.

They already know each other – Aarhus University and Andrew Harkin. For a number of years, the Irish researcher has acted as a co-examiner at the university, while also being involved in the Translational Neuropsychiatry research group at the department.
Andrew Harkin is currently carrying out research that will shed light on molecular and cellular mechanisms driven by stress and inflammation that play a role in disorders such as depression.
His research is translational. Focus is on the patient, based on clinical insight and contributing knowledge from the laboratory to gain a better understanding of the molecular and cellular mechanisms that researchers can translate into clinically relevant biomarkers and targets for new drug development.
Andrew Harkin’s usual place of work is Trinity College Institute of Neuroscience in Dublin, where he heads the Neuropsychopharmacology Research Group.
