The agreement is a strategic framework of this engagement towards academic research and other collaborative activities. There are great expectations regarding the collaboration between the internationally recognized department and the IT company, which is a global leader in digital transformation and employs more than 250,000 employees in more than 50 countries.

“We are very happy about the agreement with Infosys since it is the beginning of a long-term relationship. Infosys has expressed a deep interest in joining forces for research, considering the worldwide acclaim of the research competency of the Department of Computer Sciences.” said the head of the Department of Computer Science, Kaj Grønbæk, adding: “Infosys has shown a particular interest in our research on cybersecurity, blockchains, machine learning, visual analytics, and data privacy, but the agreement is open to new focus areas. At the same time, Aarhus University will gain an enormous amount of exposure and access to talent in India through this cooperation.”

Mohit Joshi, President, Infosys said “This is a fantastic opportunity for Infosys to engage with some of the greatest minds from Aarhus University. I am excited about the kind of innovative edge we can explore using the perfect blend of Infosys’ versatile industrial knowhow and Aarhus University’s technological prowess. This unique collaboration is definitely a step forward in carving a promising presence for Infosys in Denmark.”

This engagement between Infosys and Aarhus University follows on the heels of the strengthened political, economic, and commercial relations between Denmark and India, who entered into a green strategic partnership deal in September 2020. The newly signed agreement between Aarhus University and Infosys paves the way for a collaborative exploration of sustainable and green technology among other research areas at the university.

Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen was on a state visit to India from 8 to 12 October during which she formalized this agreement in presence of the Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi.
