There are a lot of questions about how a labour dispute would affect students at Aarhus University. For example: Would my classes be cancelled? If I can’t take an exam because of a lockout, does that mean I use up an examination attempt? Would I be able to get guidance from a student counsellor during a lockout? On this page, you’ll find answers to the most important questions about how the announced labour dispute would affect you as a student.

The background for the labour dispute is that the collective agreement negotiations for public sector employees collapsed in February. The intent to strike was then announced by the unions. In response, the formal employer of all public sector employees, the Agency for the Modernisation of the Public Sector, announced a lockout of all public sector employees. Because Aarhus University is part of the state sector, the lockout will apply to the majority of Aarhus University employees. It is important to understand that the strike/lockout may be called off if a compromise on a collective agreement is reached before the labour dispute is scheduled to begin.
