AU professor receives prize of honour for research into renal function

Jørgen Frøkiær from Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital is honoured with DKK 100,000 from the Danish Physicians' Insurance Society under SEB Pension.

Professor, Department Chair, Consultant, DMSc, Jørgen Frøkiær was recognised by the Danish Physicians' Insurance Society for his extensive efforts within clinical and experimental organ function examinations with focus on the kidneys.

Jørgen Frøkiær's research efforts build bridges between basic research and clinical science. His particular focus is on how congenital renal disease affects renal function. Jørgen Frøkiær also conducts research into new diagnostic methods, and he has contributed towards identifying, characterising and developing methods to detect specific transport proteins in the kidneys – which benefits patients with diseases where renal function is affected.
