The Erhoff Foundation makes two annual awards to strong research profiles within the health sciences. This year, both the main Erhoff award and the lesser talent prize go to researchers from Health. This has only happened once before.

The Erhoff Award

The Erhoff Foundation states that the award to Henrik Toft Sørensen was made on the basis of his position among the internationally most important and influential researchers within clinical epidemiology. Henrik Toft Sørensen's register-based research into the identification of new biomarkers for cancer and circulatory diseases is singled out for being a particular landmark and clinically applicable. The foundation also underlines that Henrik Toft Sørensen is among the few researchers in Denmark with the ability to put together a research team of impressive scope, originality and productivity. In addition to the award, Henrik Toft Sørensen also receives DKK 250,000.

The Erhoff Foundation Talent Prize

The Erhoff Foundation awards the talent prize to Lars Wiuff Andersen in recognition of the indisputable talent which he has already demonstrated in developing research ideas and securing the funding and competences needed to realise them. The foundation points out that Lars Wiuff Andersen has produced and positioned an admirable number of original research contributions of translational and clinical relevance in the field of acute and critical medicine. Lars Wiuff Andersen’s primary area of research is cardiac arrest and severe infections. The award includes a DKK 50,000 cash prize.
