'Book a researcher' is looking for speakers

Researchers are now invited to give a presentation or lecture at the ‘Book a Researcher’ event – a Festival of Research initiative which gives everyone in Denmark an opportunity to have a free visit from a researcher. This year, the Festival of Research is taking place from 25 April to 1 May.

The aim is to create dialogue between researchers and citizens, and all members of academic staff can sign up to give a presentation or lecture. You decide the focus and content of your lecture and where in Denmark you want to give it; you also decide when you want to give your lecture during the Festival of Research week.

If this sounds appealing, you can find out more and register at www.forsk.dk

The Festival of Research secretariat is based at the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation under the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science. Once your registration has been considered by the secretariat, you will be listed in the final lecture catalogue, which is published on 2 March at www.forsk.dk.

In 2015, 285 researchers from all over Denmark joined in, and more than 350 presentations and lectures were given at schools, workplaces, libraries and associations. Those booking a lecture must be able to get together an audience of min. 15 persons.

You must register your lecture by Friday 26 February 2016.
