Section for Prosthetic Dentistry invites you to join their virtual journal club with Professor Irena Sailer, who is one of the world's leading researchers in fixed prosthodontics and implantology. On Thursday 22nd of April at 8:00-9:00 pm, she gives a presentation with the title ‘Reconstructive dentistry in the era of digitalisation’ – and all are welcome.

Professor Irena Sailer will be giving the presentation "Reconstructive dentistry in the era of digitalisation" for all interested researchers, educators and dentists on 22 April.

The monthly journal club at the Section for Prosthetic Dentistry will have a very special event in April, as the renowned professor Irena Sailer from the University of Geneva gives a live presentation on prosthodontics in the digital era. On that occasion, the section opens its doors - and screens - to their 'journal club special' and invites everyone, who has an interest in modern prosthodontics to join.

Under the heading ‘Reconstructive dentistry in the era of digitalisation’, Irena Sailer gives an overview of the possibilities digital dentistry offers in reconstructive dentistry - from treatment planning to the execution of the treatment. Irena Sailer also provides insight into the science behind, and she talks about which materials fit naturally into a digital workflow.

About Irena Sailer

Irena Sailer is professor, Dr. med. dent. and chair at the Division of Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials at the University of Geneva. She specializes in fixed prosthodontics and implantology, and her area of expertise covers fixed and implant prosthodontics, digital dental technologies, minimally invasive dentistry, biomaterials and all-ceramic reconstructions. Irena Sailer is the editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Prosthodontics and one of the world's most sought after keynote speakers. Also, she's one of the department's Honorary Skou Professors

A digital quantum leap in Aarhus

The appointment of Irena Sailer as honorary professor at the Department of Dentistry and Oral Health has created close ties between Geneva and Aarhus, especially due to associate professor and Head of Section Golnoush Bahrami Møller, who has also been the driving force behind the digitalisation of prosthodontics at Aarhus University. In recent years, the department has taken a digital quantum leap, e.g. seven new ‘state of the art’ Trios scanners for digital impressions were purchased just last year. No other university in Scandinavia has this many new scanners of such high quality.
