Join us for this first our of four diverse and enlightening seminars at University of Copenhagen in person or via Zoom. Researchers from all over Europe will give a talk on their latest cardiovascular research. This first seminar will give insight into cerebral small vessel disease and development of dementia.

Gain an overview of how cerbrovascular disease contributes to dementia development. The talk will focus on cerebral small vessel disease and present insights from basic and clinical research in Magdeburg. Using hypertensive animal models, human biofluids and MRI imaging the research group investigate disease patho- and reserve mechanisms.
Philipp Ulbrich is a fourth year medical student, and has for the past two years been working in the research group of Prof. Schreiber at the DZNE Magdeburg. He is writing his thesis as part of the "SynAge" graduate program. His thesis focuses on the interaction between vascular cells, parenchymal cells and extracellular matrix (ECM), e.g. investigating how glia and peripheral immune cells react to vascular injury and whether neuronal ECM and synaptic function is altered in this process.
