Aarhus University has hired Christian Buur as head of innovation He comes to AU from a position as CEO of Unisense, a high-tech company specialising in the development and production of sensors for microbiology research within biogeochemistry and biomedicine, as well as industrial sensors for the water sector. Unisense is an AU spinout company.

Out of a large, highly qualified pool of applicants, Aarhus University has decided to appoint Christian Burr as head of innovation. Through most of his career, he has worked with management, innovation and business development, both as a manager and as a consultant in companies such as Accellerace, McKinsey, AarhusKarlhamn and most recently Unisense.
"With Christian, as head of the innovation pillar of AU's new business initiative, we have come much closer to AU’s goal of generating more knowledge-based companies that create direct value for society through growth, jobs and the development of the business models of the future," says Lone Ryg Olsen, director of Enterprise and Innovation.
In the newly established position as Head of Innovation at Enterprise and Innovation at the university, he will be managing the activities under AU's new entrepreneurship hub The Kitchen, which is the centre for entrepreneurial activities for students, PhD students and researchers at AU. His first day in his new position will be 1 August 2020.
Christian has an MSc in Economics and Business Administration in International Business from Aarhus University, and today he lives in Risskov with his wife and three children, and is also a keen athlete.
