In the beginning of 2018, we will elect new occupational health and safety representatives at AU. The occupational health and safety representatives are elected for three years at a time, and all AU employees who have worked at AU for at least nine months are eligible for election as occupational health and safety representatives. All you have to do is stand for election in the area where you work, and which is covered by the occupational health and safety group – such as part of a department/school. The nomination period runs from 6 December 2017 to 8 January 2018.

What does it include?

An occupational health and safety representative is a dedicated colleague who takes responsibility and contributes to creating a good workplace in collaboration with management. As the voice of your colleagues, you help to ensure staff involvement and co-determination in matters aimed at strengthening the work environment. You will therefore play an important role in developing the good work environment at AU in collaboration with your managers.

Rector supports the election

The election to the occupational health and safety organisation is an important part of the collaboration at AU on well-being, efficiency – and thus a good work environment. Therefore, Rector Brian Bech Nielsen encourages all employees to become involved in the election by standing for election and voting in the election:

“AU has a well-functioning occupational health and safety organisation which helps to ensure that AU is a nice place to work. The senior management team considers this work to be of great importance to the entire university, and therefore it is important that we all, employees as well as management, give priority to participating in this election."

The election to the occupational health and safety organisation takes place during the first quarter of 2018. However, if you want to become an occupational health and safety representative within your area, you must stand for election in December.
