Remember to register your publications in PURE

2019 is coming to an end, and this means that you need to be aware of deadlines and practical information in connection with the reporting procedure for the university’s publications in PURE.

Wednesday 15 January 2020 is the deadline for reporting publications published in 2019. This is also the deadline for making publications available through Open Access.

If you are a researcher or a member of administrative staff dealing with registration in PURE, this information is relevant for you.

Do you register your publications in PURE?

Remember to check the following before 15 January 2020:

  • Have all your publications been registered in PURE?
  • Has all relevant data on your publications published in 2019 been registered?
  • Have any of your publications changed publication status since you registered them?
  • Have your publications been registered under the correct categories (‘research’, ‘communication’, ‘consultancy’ and ‘teaching’)?
  • If the publication is peer-reviewed, has this been indicated correctly?
  • Has the Open Access status been indicated correctly, if relevant?

AU’s key figures, BFI numbers and Open Access Indicator status are based on validated data from PURE. Thus, it is important that we meet the deadline. AU PURE cannot guarantee that publications that are registered after the deadline will be validated and included in the calculations.

In the beginning of March, AU will receive an overview of its research production. The overview includes the number of registered publications published in 2019 and is part of the university’s annual report.

Facts:

Open Access 

In the beginning of March 2020, publications published in 2018 will be harvested to the Danish Open Access indicator. Therefore, you must make sure that the Open Access status of your publications from 2018 is correct. Please also take a look at your publications from 2019 so that everything is up-to-date. Upload the accepted manuscript to PURE, if you are permitted by the publisher to parallel publish. If you are in doubt about how to deal with Open Access, please contact your contact person at AU Library. You can read more about Open Access here.

The Bibliometric Research Indicator (BFI)

The BFI numbers are used to allocate some of the new basic research funding to the universities. Therefore, it is essential that the university’s publications are reported on time. In June 2020, publications published in 2019 will be harvested. You can read more about BFI on the Danish Agency for Science and Higher Education’s website.
