Different programs of repetitive stimulation allow to induce in single human motor axons two types of repetitive activity (RA) which correspond to diverse types of RA occurring in human pathology. Experimentation on these models allowed to precise the conditions under which this RA arises and, as a result, provided more precisions on the underlying mechanisms. A third type of RA rising in neuroma will be taken in consideration. On the basis of our findings, we propose a standardized neurophysiologic testing procedure, which may be meaningful for diagnostic purposes, but also for further research and in view of possible therapeutic decisions.
