Inauguration of the Skou Building

Health will inaugurate the Department of Biomedicine's new state-of-the-art research building named after Nobel Prize winner Jens Christian Skou.

On Monday 8. October – the day that Jens Christian Skou would have turned one hundred years old – the ribbon will be officially cut at the Department of Biomedicine's new research building the Skou Building. The six-storey, high-tech building contains new advanced laboratories, laboratory animal facilities, offices and communal areas for approximately 300 employees and has a total budget of approx. DKK 650 million.

The building is located in the University Park at the corner of Vennelyst Boulevard and Høegh-Guldbergs Gade.

The inauguration ceremony with speeches, entertainment, a guided tour and reception is reserved for specially-invited guests.

Later the same day, an exhibition on research and the life of the researcher will open at the Steno Museum at Aarhus University. One of the exhibits will be a reconstruction of Jens Christian Skou's office.
