Information security: AU under attack by phone scammers

A lot of employees are currently getting phone scam calls from foreign telephone numbers. Be cautious about taking calls from numbers you don’t recognise, and don’t return missed calls. You could be cheated and scammed.

A lot of AU employees are currently getting phone scam calls from phone numbers outside Denmark. These callers speak English and pretend to be representing various companies, for example IBM or HP. These imposters will ask you for different kinds of information. You should never give personal information, such as your email address, to callers you do not know.

And in general, you should be cautious when answering a call from a number you don’t recognise or don’t expect a call from.

One of the phone scam numbers AU employees are currently getting calls from is +1 657 220-1615. Scammers will often try both your landline and your mobile phone.
