Each year, about 1,500 patients are affected by cancer of the mouth, pharynx or throat in Denmark. Jesper Grau Eriksen, new professor at AU and AUH, will in part use his professorship to conduct research into the cancer tumours that return despite a completed course of radiation therapy.

The objective is to tailor radiation treatment to the individual patient and thus ensure a better control of the cancer with as few side effects as possible.
