Courses in stress reduction that have been developed for adults have had positive results, but courses in stress reduction have not been tested and used in relation to children and young people. That this will now happen pleases Lone Overby Fjorback, who is centre director at the Danish Center for Mindfulness.

Loneliness, anxiety, low self-esteem and stress. This is everyday life for many children and young people. A grant of DKK 12.5 million over a three-year period will now be used to train and educate professionals who work with children and young people aged between 11-18 on a daily basis in mindfulness.

The Danish Center for Mindfulness is behind the training programme, which will create well-being and stress-free daily life for children and young people, and also contribute towards ensuring that they achieve greater balance and overview and become better to prioritise close relationships in their everyday life.

The centre expects to train 250-260 professionals during the entire period.
