Large NIH grant for project on risk profiles for suicidal behaviour

Professor Henrik Toft Sørensen and three fellow applicants have received a total of DKK 9.4 million for the project “Risk Profiles for Suicidal Behavior in the General Population”. The project focuses on the best way to detect and/or predict the risk of suicide, for instance, in patients with chronic diseases. Department of Clinical Epidemiology will receive almost four of the DKK 9.4 million for their part of the project, which primarily focuses on data collection and statistics. The grant stems from the American National Institutes of Health (NIH). The project is headed by Jaimie Gradus in collaboration with Henrik Toft Sørensen. Jaimie Gradus is employed at Boston University Medical Campus and is a visiting associate professor at Department of Clinical Epidemiology.
