Louise Gade will resign from her position as deputy director of AU HR at Aarhus University at the end of July. She will take up a new position as director of the School of Continuing Education at VIA University College on 1 August 2015 and will be joining VIA’s executive board.

For the past six years, Louise Gade has headed the central HR function at Aarhus University. At the end of July, she will be saying goodbye to AU and moving on to new challenges as director of the School of Continuing Education at VIA University College.
“We received the news of Louise Gade’s resignation with deep regret. Aarhus University is saying goodbye to an extremely well-liked and visionary leader. With her deep understanding of both the organisation and the individual, she has succeed in making HR a decisive strategic tool for the university’s development. I wish Louise Gade the very best of luck in her new position,” says University Director Jane Kraglund.
Louise Gade was mayor of Aarhus from 2002 to 2005, after which she served as alderman for the municipal department Children and Young People. In 2009, she left local politics for a position as deputy director of HR at Aarhus University.
“I’ve had six amazing, exciting years at Aarhus University, and I’ve enjoyed working with the university’s many committed, dedicated employees. It has been both challenging and rewarding to be part of one of the most transformative periods in the university’s history. Naturally, I regret leaving Aarhus University, but the new challenge as director of the School of Continuing Education at VIA presents some exciting opportunities for development that I couldn’t pass up,” explains Louise Gade.
The position of deputy director of AU HR will be advertised as soon as possible.
