You are what you eat is an old saying – but it has never been more true than today. Today’s offerings of food products, meal solutions and new ways of distribution give us the opportunity to use food as a form of self-expression more than ever before. At the same time, new insights into the role of food in people’s life, new focus on the role of food, not only for health but also for well-being, and not least progress in personalised nutrition give the food sector better possibilities for tailoring food and meals to personal needs and preferences.

The MAPP Centre, Aarhus University, invites to a one-day conference where we look at food and identity in the light of research on the way in which consumers relate to food, and where we look at how better insight into the relationship between food and identity is useful for both food industry and public policy.
