Researchers, ministers, leading politicians and diplomats from the Danish Commonwealth, the Nordic countries and other members of the Arctic Council will assemble at the MatchPoints Seminar in Aarhus to discuss Arctic security and governance.

The security, resilience and sustainability of the globalised Arctic region and its peoples will be on the agenda when a variety of speakers and debaters from Denmark and abroad will meet to discuss which instruments of governance might best contribute to a positive development.
Thursday’s programme, in particular, is aimed at the general public and features many presentations and panel debates. The keynote speakers include Professor John Mearsheimer (USA), Professor Michael Byers (Canada), as well as the Danish Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Danish Minister of Defence and the Danish Minister for Higher Education and Science. The panel debaters of the day include the former Danish ministers for foreign affairs Per Stig Møller, Uffe Ellemann-Jensen and Holger K. Nielsen, as well as security policy commentator Tage Baumann. The panel debates will be moderated by journalist and Arctic expert Martin Breum.
Friday’s programme is dedicated to a number of academic workshops.
